I've just tried what you have suggested and it works actually but.I don't have any ide why but I can open maximum of 3 Superior Drummer tracks. But "just to see" I opened up 25 instances without any problems. I've used 12 stereo track instances of Superior this way. I'll guess approximately 100 megabytes of ram get used for the three tracks. The Caching works cumulatively across the instances of Superior you open. You'll notice a delay the first time you play from file or hit because the sample(s) are loading.
Put your hats performance or midi on one, snare on another, and kick on the last. Choose your Metal Foundry and one of its presets. Look in the "Memory and Status" section at the bottom left hand of Superior's window. The way I like to work with multiple tracks and multiple instances of Superior is to use cached mode. Is there any chance I can remain preset sound AND shape that preset piece by piece ? Because If I assign SD to a multichannel ( 16 stereo AUX channel strip) and go orange letters, OUT of SD mixer, choose Multichannel I immediately change the wholle sound of that AWESOME preset and I'm on the beggining. But there is no reverb in SD mixer and my favourite plugin T-RACKS is very good so I would prefer to use T-RACKS but I can't.
So I want everything else to remain the sound of the preset as well as snare and kick but to have them with REVERB on their channel. It was very helpful but as I said problem lies in fact that when I select some desired preset ( Texas Metal works great for me) I am like."ummmm.goood, only thing I would add here is a bit of reverb on a snare and maybe some compression and reverb on the kick.
If you change presets you need to re-assign the Multi-channel output within Superior. Without any further routing you can now tweak and add effects to the 1) microphone channel strip within Superior, 2) the bus section of Superior's Mixer with some of the presets 3) the output section of Superior's Mixer, and of course 4) Logic's Mixer Aux. and it will all sound like a well done "kit". Go to Superior's mixer and choose "Multichannel" from the output indicator of the first microphone channel strips (orange coloured letters). Set up your multi-channel instrument on the track and in Logic's mixer (16x aux.)
